Active Funds
Active funds are established to raise money for a particular cause. Often these are memorial funds established by the family, friends or loved ones of individuals as a way of honouring their memory. Fund raising is driven externally with the support of the Advancement Office.
In addition to raising valuable income for scholarships or other initiatives the establishment of memorial funds also serve as an important link to families and friends in their time of need and have a long lasting impact in terms of community relationships and our values and reputation.

Establish your own fund
Whether you want to honour the legacy of a loved one or raise money for a scholarship or other university cause, an active fund is a great option.
We will provide advice and a support pack to get you started and then the sky’s the limit. Here are some of the ways people support their funds:
- Organise fundraising events such as sponsoring community sports matches or holding a sausage sizzle
- Requesting donations rather than flowers at a funeral
- Undertaking a personal challenge
- Hosting an auction
- Holding a raffle or competition
We encourage you to be as creative as you like.
